Business Lunch Restaurant Recommendations?

Next week, I am meeting with a German company president and his PR guy, both from out of town and flying in in part for this interview, to conduct a lunch interview for a story I'm writing. I don't work in the Loop, so I don't often have lunch in the neighborhood.

I am trying to find a lunch place in the Loop or nearby that's favorably reviewed, "safe", and not too extreme on the cost spectrum. Oh, and not too loud and crazy, as I will be using a handheld recorder to capture the interview. Here are the places I came up with, using Yelp and Zagat:

http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com
http://www.nicks-fishmarket.com
http://www.kinziechophouse.com
http://www.thecapitalgrille.com
http://www.greekislands.net
http://www.blackbirdrestaurant.com
http://www.parkgrillchicago.com

Any opinions on any of these, or any other places to recommend?

Thanks!

Nick's and McCormick and Schmick's will probably be fairly loud/busy. They are big lunch spots.

Park Grill isn't that good, IMHO.

Blackbird will probably have the best food but it might not be quite as safe as you'd like. (Menu is pretty frou frou.)

Greek Islands is about as safe as you can get in Greektown. Lots of non-offensive fish dishes on the menu and the price is good. It's pretty busy at dinner, but I'm not sure about lunch.

Haven't been to Kinzie Chophouse or Capital Grille.

I think Greek Islands and the Park Grill may end up being too loud for you. Greek Islands is lovely but can get a little "whoop whoop" for lunch, and the Park Grill can get clogged with tourists.

McCormick & Schmick's is a classic business lunch location in Chicago, and most hotel restaurants will also suit you well as they're used to these sorts of things.

P.S. Can you tag your post, please?

Oooh, yes. I've taken several business lunches to the restaurant in the W hotel downtown on Adams. Good food and it's never very crowded. Thanks for the reminder.

Perhaps Custom House? The requirement of non-noisy excludes a lot of Loop space. The restaurant in the W Hotel on Adams (Ristorante We) is also good and not too loud.

McCormick and Schmick's and Capital Grille, while good, are both chains. Personally, I like to take out-of-towners to places that are unique to Chicago.

I've had a couple of unfavorable reviews of Nick's from my own clients lately.

Keefer's is pretty spacious and is fairly quiet at lunch. Lots of natural light in the bar side of the dining room. Basic American steak, chops and seafood. Think about Naha for a similar setting with more creative cuisine.

Thanks, everybody. We went to Capital Grille and it was great.
